Solutions for Simplicity

"Have nothing in your house which you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful". William Morris, leader of the Arts and Crafts movement wrote that, in a wonderful little treatise on the decoration of houses. But where to start?

Our homes should be places of calm and order. Our offices should be efficient, pleasant spaces. We want to live life to the fullest, create to the best of our ability, we want to rest. We cannot do that in cluttered, disorganized spaces. Everyone knows that intellectually. Getting there can be the challenge.

Life brings with it transitions that can make organizing even more difficult. Moving to a new house, bringing home a baby, downsizing after retirement...all these life changes can leave us wondering what to do with "all that stuff". Whether you have a scary closet, an unlivable room, an out of control filing system or a two car garage that has never seen the headlights of an automobile, I can help. Together we will peel off the layers of clutter, leaving you with organized, open, livable spaces full only of the things you use and love...spaces that reflect who you are, what you care about and how you live.

No job is too big or too small. Sometimes you just need a gentle, objective nudge to get started. Sometimes you feel like you need a forklift and a dumpster. I'm not intimidated. My job is to encourage you, ask the right questions and give you the advice and strategies you need to get the job done. Even as I help you reduce your clutter and reclaim your home, I'll give you the tools you need to stay on top of the clutter so that it never again gets a firm foothold on your life.

There are countless systems for organizing; an entire industry full of books, DVDs, magazines, and television shows exist, telling us how to get organized. So why don't we? I believe it is because while the goal of a more organized life is universal, no one system fits everyone. You need a system that is specifically designed to work for you and your life. It has to be something you can maintain. I'll help you figure out what makes sense for you.
